I’m writing to introduce myself to you as the new
Headteacher at Tubbenden Primary School. I am very
excited to be taking up this position and look forward
to working with your children and getting to know you
over the coming weeks, months and years.
I was born
and schooled in Orpington, and worked for a short period
in the City. After completing my University degree I
began my teaching career in East London. I have been in
education for twenty-seven years now, and in that time
taught all ages in a wide range of schools in East
London, Kent, and now Bromley. I’ve also been in senior
school leadership positions for twenty years now! I am
married with two adult sons.
My most recent experience was as Headteacher of
Darrick Wood Junior School, where I had over ten very
happy years. I firmly believe that we should always be
learners ourselves, and that change is a good thing as
well as inevitable. With that in mind I decided to seek
a new challenge and was delighted to be appointed here.
I must express that I am very grateful to Mr Youlton
for all his hard work over a number of years in bringing
Tubbenden Primary to its current strong position. I aim
to build on its many existing strengths to make the
school even better, and have already begun the process
of consultation with staff and Governors about how this
might be achieved. In the near future I will provide you
with opportunities to ‘have your say’ so that your views
can form a part of the improvement planning process. In
the meantime I have included my email address below
should you wish to communicate directly with me. I shall
also endeavour to be at the entrance doors and outside
as often as I can so please come and find me and
I’d like to reassure you that we will continue to
have the highest expectations of, and aims for your
children, and will strive to support them to achieve.
Many thanks for your support.
